Alessandro de Tomaso

Alessandro de Tomaso, an Argentine driver born in 1928, made two Formula 1 World Championship starts in the late 1950s. He first appeared in 1957 driving a Ferrari, then returned after a year away for a second start in 1959 at the wheel of a Cooper-OSCA.

Neither appearance produced championship points, and his driving record closed at two starts with two different teams across a three-year span. He was one of several Argentine drivers to reach the World Championship during the 1950s, a strong decade for the country's racing exports.
