Yuki Tsunoda

Yuki Tsunoda, a Japanese driver born in 2000, has been a fixture of the Formula 1 grid since 2021, accumulating 116 starts and 109 championship points since his 2021 debut. He debuted with AlphaTauri at the age of twenty and has spent his career within the Red Bull family of teams. After losing his race seat for the start of 2026, he returned to Formula 1 in August when Isack Hadjar’s wrist injury reshuffled the Red Bull line-ups: Tsunoda rejoined Racing Bulls from the Dutch Grand Prix and scored on his second race back with tenth place at Monza.

His rookie season brought thirty-two points and fourteenth in the championship, a total that stood as his best until recent years. After leaner campaigns in 2022 and 2023, he moved with the renamed RB F1 Team in 2024 and delivered thirty points for twelfth in the standings, his strongest championship position to date, before adding thirty-three points in 2025.

Tsunoda has yet to record a win, podium or pole, but he has set one fastest lap, and his points tally has been earned largely in midfield machinery where top finishes are hard to come by.

Five consecutive seasons of scoring make him the most experienced Japanese driver on the current grid, and his career-high single-season points total came in 2025.
