LDS

LDS was a South African racing outfit that competed in the Formula 1 World Championship between 1962 and 1968, taking part across 3 seasons during the 1960s.

Like many of the small privateer entries that filled the grids of its day, the team did not score championship points, but its participation was part of the fabric of Formula 1 in an era when privateers and one-off entrants were a common sight.

Drivers to appear for the team included Doug Serrurier and Sam Tingle.

LDS represents the countless smaller teams and privateer entries whose participation, however brief, helped fill the grids and shape the character of Formula 1. Though it never reached the front, it remains part of the complete history of the World Championship.
