George Abecassis

George Abecassis, a British driver born in 1913, took part in two World Championship Grands Prix in the early years of the championship, one in 1951 and one in 1952. Both of his starts came with HWM, the British constructor with which his Formula 1 career was exclusively associated.

Already in his late thirties when he made his championship debut, Abecassis did not score points in either appearance. His two-season involvement was brief, but it came at a time when British teams such as HWM were only beginning to establish a foothold in Grand Prix racing.
