Alan Brown

Alan Brown, a British driver born in 1919, competed in the World Championship from 1952 to 1954, making nine starts, all with Cooper. His best campaign came first: in 1952 he scored two points and was classified sixteenth in the championship, which proved to be the high point of his Formula 1 record.

The following two seasons with Cooper brought no further points. In the early years of the World Championship a points finish was a genuinely strong result, with only the top five classified finishers scoring, so Brown's 1952 tally stands out within his short career.

Nine starts across three seasons, all with a single British constructor, give his record a consistency of association that many of his contemporaries, who moved frequently between teams, did not share.
