Mark Blundell

Mark Blundell, a British driver born in 1966, made sixty-one Formula 1 starts across four seasons between 1991 and 1995. He debuted with Brabham in 1991 at around 24 years of age, scoring a point in his rookie year for nineteenth in the standings.

After a season away from racing in 1992, Blundell returned with Ligier in 1993 and enjoyed his strongest campaign to that point: ten points and tenth place in the Drivers' Championship. A move to Tyrrell followed in 1994, bringing eight points and twelfth in the standings.

For 1995 he joined McLaren, where he recorded thirteen points — his best single-season total — and equalled his career-best tenth place in the championship. Along the way he collected three podium finishes.

Blundell's record of thirty-two points and three podiums from sixty-one starts was built with four different teams in five years, and his ability to score consistently wherever he landed — every full season of his career ended with points — marks him as one of the solid British midfield performers of the early 1990s.
