Rudi Fischer

Rudi Fischer, a Swiss driver born in 1912, enjoyed one of the more efficient short careers of Formula 1's early years, scoring ten points and two podium finishes from just seven starts, all with Ferrari machinery.

After an unclassified first season in 1951, Fischer's 1952 campaign was outstanding. He collected all ten of his career points that year and finished fourth in the drivers' championship — a result that placed him among the leading names of the season.

He did not return for another campaign, leaving a record of seven starts, two podiums and a top-four championship finish. Few drivers of the 1950s achieved so much in so few World Championship appearances.
