George Fonder

George Fonder, an American driver born in 1917, made three World Championship starts in the early 1950s, all through the Indianapolis 500, which counted toward the Formula 1 championship from 1950 to 1960.

His appearances came in 1952, driving a Sherman, and in 1954 at the wheel of a Kurtis Kraft, with his career record also noting Schroeder machinery. None of his outings brought championship points.

Fonder's Formula 1 statistics close at three starts without a point — a record typical of the American oval-racing contingent whose names entered the championship's books solely through Indianapolis during the 1950s.
