Brian Henton

Brian Henton, a British driver born in 1946, made twenty Formula 1 starts spread across four seasons between 1975 and 1982, in a career notable for its interruptions and its variety of teams.

He debuted with Team Lotus in 1975, returned with March in 1977 after a year away, then spent three seasons out of the championship before reappearing with Toleman in 1981. His final campaign came with Arrows in 1982, and his teams list also includes Boro and Tyrrell.

None of his four seasons produced championship points, and he was never classified in the standings.

Henton's stop-start record, with six different teams across eight calendar years for only twenty starts, illustrates the precarious path of drivers moving between Formula 1's smaller outfits in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
