François Hesnault

François Hesnault, a French driver born in 1956, made nineteen Formula 1 starts across the 1984 and 1985 seasons.

He entered the championship with Ligier in 1984 at the age of twenty-seven, completing a full season with the French team without scoring. For 1985 he moved to Brabham, and his career record also includes an appearance for Renault.

Neither campaign brought points, and Hesnault was unclassified in the standings in both of his seasons.

His two-year, three-team career ended after 1985, his nineteen starts having come in an era when points were paid only to the top six finishers, leaving little reward for drivers running outside the front group.
