Chris Irwin

Chris Irwin, a British driver born in 1942, competed in Formula 1 in 1966 and 1967, making ten Grand Prix starts. He debuted at twenty-four in a Brabham-Climax before racing Lotus-BRM and BRM machinery the following year.

His first season brought no points, but 1967 proved more productive: he scored two championship points and was classified sixteenth in the drivers' standings. Under the scoring system of the era, which rewarded only the top finishers, any points return was a creditable achievement.

Irwin's Formula 1 career ended after that 1967 campaign, leaving a brief record of two seasons, three different chassis, and a modest but genuine points score from his ten starts.
