Stuart Lewis-Evans

Stuart Lewis-Evans, a British driver born in 1930, packed an impressive amount into a Formula 1 career of just fourteen starts across the 1957 and 1958 seasons, taking two podium finishes, two pole positions and sixteen championship points.

He arrived with Connaught in 1957 and scored five points, placing twelfth in the drivers' championship, a strong showing for a first campaign. For 1958 he joined Vanwall, one of the leading British teams of the day, and his form sharpened further: eleven points and ninth in the standings.
