Helmut Marko

Helmut Marko, an Austrian driver born in 1943, made nine World Championship starts for BRM across the 1971 and 1972 seasons.

His two campaigns with the British team brought no points, podiums or poles, and his Formula 1 driving career ended after 1972, when he was 29. Nine starts in two seasons suggest a driver establishing himself in the sport rather than one winding down.

Marko's entire Grand Prix record is thus contained within a two-year window at the start of the 1970s, all of it in BRM machinery.
