Danny Ongais

Danny Ongais, an American driver born in 1942, made four Formula 1 starts across the 1977 and 1978 seasons.

He debuted with Penske in 1977 at the age of 35, then switched to the Ensign team for his 1978 appearances. Neither spell yielded championship points.

Ongais was among the relatively few American drivers to contest World Championship rounds in the late 1970s, and his Formula 1 record closed after those two brief campaigns with two different teams.
