Mike Parkes

Mike Parkes, a British driver born in 1931, made six Formula 1 starts, all for Ferrari, across the 1966 and 1967 seasons — and made them count, scoring 14 points with two podium finishes and a pole position.

His 1966 campaign was remarkably productive: from limited outings he scored 12 points and finished eighth in the World Championship, taking a pole position along the way. He added two further points in 1967.

Few drivers have compiled such a strong record from so few starts. Parkes reached the podium in a third of his Grands Prix, and his brief Formula 1 career was spent entirely in the works Ferrari team, which he joined at the age of 34.
