Hernando da Silva Ramos

Hernando da Silva Ramos, a Brazilian driver born in 1925, raced for Gordini in the World Championship during 1955 and 1956, making seven starts. He came to Formula 1 in his late twenties with the French team, one of the smaller works operations of the mid-1950s.

His first season passed without points, but 1956 brought a two-point score and a 22nd-place classification in the drivers' championship — a creditable return in Gordini machinery, which rarely troubled the front-running Italian and British teams of the period.

Ramos's World Championship record ended after 1956: two seasons, one team, and a modest but genuine points tally from an era when scoring opportunities were scarce.
