About Trevor Taylor

Trevor Taylor, a British driver born in 1936, competed in Formula 1 between 1961 and 1966, making twenty-seven starts. The bulk of his career was spent with Lotus-Climax, for whom he drove from 1961 to 1963, before moving to BRP in 1964 and making a final appearance with Shannon in 1966.

His strongest season came in 1962, when he scored six points for Lotus, claimed the only podium of his career, and finished tenth in the World Championship. It proved the high-water mark: a single point in 1963 and another in 1964 with BRP brought his career total to eight.

After sitting out 1965, Taylor returned for one last start in 1966 with the short-lived Shannon operation before his championship career ended. His record of one podium and eight points was earned during a fiercely competitive period for British drivers, and his 1962 campaign remains the standout of his five seasons in Formula 1.
