Fred Wacker

Fred Wacker, an American driver born in 1918, contested three World Championship Grands Prix with Gordini across the 1953 and 1954 seasons. Unlike many of his compatriots of the era, whose championship appearances came in American machinery, Wacker raced for the Gordini team in Grand Prix competition proper.

His three starts, made when he was in his mid-thirties, produced no points and no classified championship position. Gordini's cars of the period rarely troubled the leading teams, and Wacker's outings fit that pattern. His Formula 1 involvement ended after 1954, closing a brief two-season career.
