About Wilson Fittipaldi

Wilson Fittipaldi, a Brazilian driver born in 1943, competed in Formula 1 across three seasons in the 1970s, making 35 World Championship starts. He debuted with Brabham in 1972 and remained with the team for 1973, when he scored all three of his career points and finished sixteenth in the World Championship.

Points were then awarded only to the top six finishers, so his 1973 tally represented genuine results against a deep field. After that season he stepped away from the championship for a year.

He returned in 1975 driving for Fittipaldi, a team bearing his own surname, but the campaign produced no points and no classified championship position. That season proved to be his last as a Formula 1 driver.

His career record stands at three points from 35 starts across 1972, 1973 and 1975, with the Brabham years supplying all of his scoring.
