Schumacher vs Hill
The Collision in Adelaide
The Story
The 1994 season was one of the most turbulent in F1 history. It began with the deaths of Ayrton Senna and Roland Ratzenberger at Imola, which cast a shadow over everything that followed. Michael Schumacher dominated the early races for Benetton, but controversy swirled around his team: allegations of illegal traction control, a two-race ban for ignoring a black flag at Silverstone, and further disqualifications narrowed his lead over Damon Hill's Williams. By the final race in Adelaide, Schumacher led by a single point. When Schumacher clipped a wall and damaged his car, Hill attempted to pass on the inside. Schumacher turned into Hill, ending both their races. Because Schumacher was ahead on points, he won the championship, but the legitimacy of the move has been debated ever since.
