About Wolf
Walter Wolf Racing achieved one of the most remarkable feats in Formula 1 history: winning a Grand Prix on its very first appearance. Funded by Austrian-Canadian oil millionaire Walter Wolf, the team burst onto the scene in 1977.
Driven by Jody Scheckter, the Wolf WR1 won the 1977 Argentine Grand Prix, the team's debut race, and went on to win twice more that year as Scheckter finished runner-up in the championship. It was a stunning start for a brand-new team.
Wolf could not sustain that early brilliance, and after a steady decline the team was absorbed into the Fittipaldi operation at the end of the 1970s, ending a short but spectacular career.
