About Manny Ayulo
Manny Ayulo, an American driver born in 1921, made four World Championship starts between 1951 and 1954. All of his appearances came at the Indianapolis 500, which counted toward the Formula 1 World Championship from 1950 to 1960.
His best year on paper was his first: in 1951, driving a Kurtis Kraft, he scored two points and was classified sixteenth in the championship, and his record also credits him with a podium finish. He subsequently drove a Lesovsky in 1952 and Kuzma chassis in 1953 and 1954.
Four consecutive years of participation with three different American chassis builders made Ayulo a regular of the Indianapolis entries listed in the championship's first decade, with the 1951 result standing as the peak of his Formula 1 statistics.
