Luca Badoer

Luca Badoer, an Italian driver born in 1971, made 52 World Championship starts in a career that spanned, with long interruptions, from 1993 to 2009. He drove for four teams: Lola in 1993, Minardi in 1995 and again in 1999, Forti in 1996, and finally Ferrari in 2009.

The teams he raced for in the 1990s were among the least competitive on the grid, and none of those seasons produced a points finish. His record of no points from more than fifty starts owes much to a career spent almost entirely in back-of-the-grid machinery.

The most striking feature of his statistics is the decade-long gap between his 1999 season with Minardi and his 2009 return, when he was called up by Ferrari at 38 years of age. Even that late opportunity with the sport's most famous team ended without points, and he was classified 25th in the 2009 standings.
