About Olivier Grouillard
Olivier Grouillard, a French driver born in 1958, made forty-one Formula 1 starts between 1989 and 1992, changing teams every season: Ligier, then Osella, Fondmetal and finally Tyrrell.
His debut year with Ligier proved to be his only scoring season — a single point in 1989 left him classified twenty-sixth in the World Championship. It would remain the sum total of his career tally.
The three seasons that followed were spent with progressively struggling outfits. Neither the Osella of 1990 nor the Fondmetal of 1991 offered any realistic route to points, and his final campaign with Tyrrell in 1992 likewise ended without a score.
Forty-one starts, four teams in four years and one championship point summarise a career spent almost entirely in the congested lower midfield and back of the grid during one of Formula 1's most oversubscribed eras.
