Onofre Marimón

Onofre Marimón, an Argentine driver born in 1923, made twelve World Championship starts for Maserati across three seasons in the early years of the World Championship.

After a single appearance in 1951, he was absent from the championship in 1952 before returning for a fuller campaign in 1953, when he scored four points and finished eleventh in the World Championship. He matched that points haul in 1954, taking fourteenth in the standings.

Both of his two career podium finishes came during those two scoring seasons, and his tally of eight points in twelve starts — at a time when only the top five finishers scored — marks him as genuinely competitive in the Maserati.

His championship record closes after 1954: three seasons, one team, two podiums, and a points-per-start ratio that stands comparison with far longer careers of the era.
