About Larry Perkins
Larry Perkins, an Australian driver born in 1950, made eleven Formula 1 starts in the mid-1970s, his career taking in the Boro, BRM, Surtees and Brabham-Alfa Romeo teams.
He entered the championship in 1976 with the small Boro outfit, then drove for BRM in 1977, by which time the once-great British marque was well past its competitive peak.
None of his eleven starts brought championship points, and he went unclassified in the standings in both seasons — an outcome that owed much to the uncompetitive machinery available to him.
Perkins's Formula 1 career was brief but varied, spread across four team entries in the space of two seasons, and it ended in 1977 when he was 27 years old.
