Jackie Pretorius

Jackie Pretorius, a South African driver born in 1934, made three World Championship starts spread across a longer span than most brief careers: one appearance each in 1968, 1971 and 1973. He first appeared in a Brabham-Climax, returned three years later in a Brabham, and made his final start in an Iso Marlboro.

None of the three outings brought points, and he was never classified in the championship standings. The wide gaps between his appearances suggest a driver whose Formula 1 opportunities came only occasionally, each time in different machinery.

His record closed after 1973: three starts, three cars, spread across six seasons of the championship.
