Philippe Streiff

Philippe Streiff, a French driver born in 1955, competed in Formula 1 from 1984 to 1988, making fifty-four World Championship starts across five consecutive seasons. He debuted at twenty-nine with Renault before joining Ligier for 1985, a season that brought four points, fifteenth place in the championship and the podium finish that remains the highlight of his statistics.

Two seasons with Tyrrell followed. He scored three points in 1986 and four more in 1987, finishing fourteenth and fifteenth in the respective drivers' standings, a solid record of consistency in midfield machinery under a scoring system that rewarded only the top six.

For 1988 he moved to the small French AGS team, where points proved out of reach, and that campaign turned out to be his last in the World Championship.

Streiff's career closed with eleven points and one podium from his five seasons, earned across four teams, three of them French, in a career spent almost entirely in the competitive midfield of 1980s Formula 1.
