About Aguri Suzuki

Aguri Suzuki, a Japanese driver born in 1960, competed in Formula 1 between 1988 and 1995, making sixty-six World Championship starts across seven seasons. After a brief introduction with Larrousse in 1988, he missed the 1989 season before returning to the same team in 1990.

That 1990 campaign was comfortably the best of his career: he scored six points, claimed the podium finish that stands as the highlight of his record, and was classified twelfth in the drivers' championship. He added another point for Larrousse in 1991 before moving on.

Two seasons with Footwork in 1992 and 1993 brought no points, nor did a partial campaign with Jordan in 1994. He closed his career with Ligier in 1995, signing off with a final championship point and seventeenth in the standings.

Suzuki's eight career points across five teams understate the significance of his record, which includes one of the standout results by a Japanese driver of his era, and his 1990 season with Larrousse remained the reference point of his time in Formula 1.
