Pierre Gasly

Pierre Gasly is a French racing driver born on 7 February 1996. He won the 2016 GP2 Series championship on his way to Formula 1 and has since built a 187-start career featuring 487 points, six podiums and one famous Grand Prix victory.

Gasly debuted with Toro Rosso in 2017 and was promoted to Red Bull Racing for 2019, but a difficult half-season alongside Max Verstappen saw him returned to the junior team mid-year. He responded emphatically, winning the 2020 Italian Grand Prix at Monza for AlphaTauri, an emotional victory that came days after the death of his friend Anthoine Hubert the previous year. He moved to Alpine in 2023, where he has led the French manufacturer's driver line-up.

In 2026 Gasly continues with Alpine, now partnered by Franco Colapinto. After nine rounds he sits ninth in the drivers' standings on 42 points, spearheading the team's midfield campaign.

Gasly is a quick and emotionally driven racer who pairs strong one-lap pace with mature race management. His shock Monza win, achieved by keeping his nerve in a chaotic race, proved his big-stage credentials, and at Alpine he has become a dependable team leader who consistently maximises the package available to him.
