Roberto Mieres

Roberto Mieres, an Argentine driver born in 1924, contested the Formula 1 World Championship from 1953 to 1955, making seventeen starts over three seasons. He began with a Gordini before switching to Maserati machinery for the remainder of his career.

The move to Maserati transformed his results. After a pointless debut year, he scored six points in 1954 to finish eleventh in the championship, then improved again in 1955 with seven points and eighth place overall, his best season.

Mieres never reached the podium, but thirteen points in the mid-1950s, when only the top five finishers scored, reflect genuinely competitive form. His three-season career ended after 1955 with a top-ten championship placing to his name.
