About Paul Russo

Paul Russo was an American driver born in 1914 whose nine World Championship starts came at the Indianapolis 500, which counted toward the Formula 1 World Championship from 1950 to 1960. His appearances spanned a full decade, from 1950 to 1959.

Russo began with a Nichels entry in 1950 before settling into Kurtis Kraft machinery for the remainder of his career. He was a repeat points scorer: he took a point and a half in 1953, three points in 1955, one in 1956 and three more in 1957, with a best championship classification of fourteenth in 1955.

His career total of eight points included a podium finish, and his record of scoring in four separate seasons marked him out as one of the more consistent American entrants during the years when the Indianapolis 500 formed part of the World Championship calendar.
