About Jimmy Reece
Jimmy Reece, an American driver born in 1929, made six World Championship starts during the 1950s, all at the Indianapolis 500, which counted toward the Formula 1 World Championship from 1950 to 1960. He first appeared in 1952 in a Kurtis Kraft at the age of 22.
His subsequent appearances came in 1954 and 1955 with Pankratz chassis, in 1956 with a Lesovsky, in 1957 back in a Kurtis Kraft, and finally in 1958 aboard a Watson — five different spells of machinery across four American constructors.
None of his six starts yielded championship points or a classified position in the standings. His record is that of a consistent Speedway campaigner of the championship's first decade, present nearly every year across a seven-season span.
