Bob Sweikert

Bob Sweikert, an American driver born in 1926, made five World Championship starts between 1952 and 1956. As with many American racers of the period, his appearances came at the Indianapolis 500, which counted toward the Formula 1 World Championship from 1950 to 1960.

Sweikert campaigned Kurtis Kraft and Kuzma machinery, alternating between the two chassis builders across his five seasons. His first three appearances, from 1952 to 1954, brought no championship points, but 1955 was a different story: driving a Kurtis Kraft, he took victory, earning eight points and seventh place in the World Championship standings.

That single win gave him a career win rate of twenty percent, and it stood as both his only points-scoring result and his only podium. He made one further start in 1956 with a Kuzma before his championship record closed at five starts, one win and eight points.
