Dallara

Dallara is one of the most respected names in racing-car manufacturing, an Italian company founded by engineer Gian Paolo Dallara that has built cars for an extraordinary range of categories. Its own Formula 1 team competed at the end of the 1980s and into the early 1990s.

As a constructor in its own right, Dallara was a modest midfield-to-rear runner, scoring occasional points, most notably with a couple of podium-challenging runs from Alex Caffi and Andrea de Cesaris. The Formula 1 effort was small compared with the company's vast output elsewhere.

Dallara withdrew its own team in the early 1990s but went on to become a dominant supplier of chassis across world motorsport, including a later technical partnership role in Formula 1.

Dallara's brief turn as a Formula 1 constructor was a small chapter in the story of one of motorsport's great engineering companies. The marque's true legacy lies in the countless cars it has built for series around the world, making Dallara one of the most prolific and respected names in racing.
