About Ron Flockhart

Ron Flockhart, a British driver born in 1923, made thirteen World Championship starts spread across seven seasons between 1954 and 1960, a career of intermittent appearances rather than sustained campaigns.

After debuting with Maserati in 1954, he found his most regular home at BRM, racing for the team in 1956, 1957 and 1959. The 1956 season was his best: four points and a podium finish left him thirteenth in the drivers' championship.

His travels also took in Cooper machinery in 1958 and finally Team Lotus in 1960, where a single point gave him a twenty-fifth place classification in what proved to be his last championship season. His career record also includes an association with Connaught.

Flockhart's final tally reads thirteen starts, one podium and five points — a modest return on paper, but his 1956 rostrum finish stands as evidence of what he could deliver when opportunity and machinery aligned.
