Chico Landi

Chico Landi, a Brazilian driver born in 1907, took part in the World Championship during its first decade, making six starts spread across the 1951, 1952, 1953 and 1956 seasons.

He began with Ferrari in 1951 before switching to Maserati machinery, with which he made all of his remaining appearances. His outings in the early 1950s brought no points, a familiar outcome for drivers making occasional entries in that period.

His reward came in 1956, when he was credited with 1.5 points, a fractional tally of the kind the era's scoring rules could produce, placing him 26th in the drivers' standings. Coming after a three-year absence from the championship following 1953, it was a late return on a career of scattered but persistent appearances at the top level.
