About Ludovico Scarfiotti

Ludovico Scarfiotti was an Italian driver who made thirteen World Championship starts between 1963 and 1968, most of them for Ferrari, and whose record includes a Grand Prix victory. Born in 1933, he debuted with the Scuderia at twenty-nine, scoring a point in his first season.

His appearances were sporadic — a start or two per year rather than full campaigns — but 1966 brought the crowning result: a win for Ferrari that anchored a nine-point season and tenth place in the drivers' championship. It made him one of the select group of Italians to win a championship Grand Prix for Ferrari in the 1960s.

After one more point-scoring outing with Ferrari in 1967, he moved to Cooper-BRM for 1968 and enjoyed his most consistent scoring, taking six points and sixteenth in the standings. His record also lists Eagle-Weslake among his teams. With one win from thirteen starts, his 7.7 percent win rate is a striking figure for a driver who never raced a full season.
