Reine Wisell

Reine Wisell, a Swedish driver born in 1941, competed in Formula 1 from 1970 to 1974, making 23 World Championship starts across five seasons. He began with Team Lotus in 1970, taking four points and a podium-supported fifteenth place in the championship in his debut campaign.

He remained with Lotus for 1971, his most productive year: nine points and twelfth in the World Championship, the best classification of his career. Across his two Lotus seasons he accumulated all thirteen of his career points along with his single podium finish.

A move to BRM for 1972 ended his scoring, and appearances with March in 1973 and 1974 likewise brought no points or classified position. The second half of his career thus contrasted sharply with the first.

Wisell's final record shows one podium and thirteen points from 23 starts, with the Lotus years of 1970 and 1971 accounting for everything on his scoresheet.
