Fred Agabashian

Fred Agabashian, an American driver born in 1913, appears in the World Championship records with eight starts spread across every season from 1950 to 1957, all at the wheel of Kurtis Kraft machinery. His appearances came at the Indianapolis 500, which counted toward the Formula 1 World Championship from 1950 to 1960.

Agabashian's record includes a pole position, a rare distinction among the Indianapolis regulars listed in the championship's books, along with two championship points. His scoring season came in 1953, when he was classified nineteenth in the standings.

Eight consecutive years of participation with the same chassis marque made him one of the more consistent American entrants of the championship's first decade, even though the pole and the 1953 points remained the statistical high points of his record.
