Louis Rosier

Louis Rosier was a French driver who contested the first seven seasons of the Formula 1 World Championship, from 1950 to 1956, making thirty-nine starts. Born in 1905, he was already in his mid-forties when the championship began, yet his opening campaign proved to be his finest: driving a Talbot-Lago, he took thirteen points and fourth place in the inaugural drivers' standings, a result built on two podium finishes that remained the high-water mark of his career.

He stayed with Talbot-Lago for 1951, adding three more points, before switching to Ferrari machinery for three seasons from 1952 to 1954. The Ferrari years brought no championship points, and a final move to Maserati followed for 1955 and 1956.

Rosier signed off with two points in 1956, his last season, bringing his career total to eighteen. His record — two podiums, points in three separate seasons, and that fourth place in 1950 — marks him as one of the more consistent French privateers of the championship's founding era.
