Derek Bell

Derek Bell, a British driver born in 1941, made nine Formula 1 starts spread across six seasons between 1968 and 1974. His career at this level was notably itinerant: he drove for five different teams, beginning with Ferrari in 1968 and moving through McLaren-Ford, Brabham, Surtees and Tecno.

His sole championship point came in 1970 with Brabham, earning him twenty-fifth place in that year's standings — his only classified season. Under the top-six scoring system of the era, even a single point represented a genuine result.

After outings with Surtees in 1971, Tecno in 1972 and a return to Surtees in 1974 following a year away, his Formula 1 involvement ended with one point from nine starts. The pattern of scattered appearances for many teams suggests a driver who never secured a settled full-time seat in the championship.
