About Henri Pescarolo

Henri Pescarolo, a French driver born in 1942, competed in Formula 1 between 1968 and 1976, making 56 starts and scoring 12 championship points, including one podium finish.

He began his Grand Prix career with the French Matra team in 1968, and his best season came with the same marque in 1970, when he scored eight points and finished twelfth in the World Championship. A move to March-Ford for 1971 brought four further points and seventeenth in the standings.

The remainder of his career was spent with a succession of teams — March again in 1972 and 1973, BRM in 1974 and Surtees in 1976 — though none of those campaigns yielded points. His team list also included the Politoys and Iso Marlboro entries, making him one of the more widely travelled drivers of the era.

Across nine seasons at the top level, Pescarolo's Formula 1 record combined an early points-scoring peak with long spells in midfield and back-of-the-grid machinery, all of his 12 points coming in the three seasons from 1970 to 1971.
