Pedro Rodríguez

Pedro Rodríguez was a Mexican driver who competed in the Formula 1 World Championship from 1963 to 1971, amassing fifty-four starts, two victories, seven podium finishes and seventy-one points across nine seasons. He made his debut with Lotus-Climax in 1963 at the age of twenty-three, and within a year had been taken on by Ferrari, scoring his first championship point with the Italian team in 1964.

His breakthrough came in 1967 with Cooper-Maserati, a season that brought his maiden Grand Prix win and a career-best sixth place in the drivers' standings on fifteen points. He then moved to BRM, where he spent the final four seasons of his career and matched that sixth-place championship finish in 1968 with eighteen points.

The 1970 season was statistically his strongest: a second career victory and twenty-three points, good for seventh in the championship. He added nine more points in 1971, his final year. Across a career that touched five different teams — Lotus, Ferrari, Cooper-Maserati, Lotus-BRM and BRM — Rodríguez converted his fifty-four starts at a win rate of 3.7 percent, and remains one of the most successful Mexican drivers in the championship's history.
